While reviewing the spiritual exercises of Ignatius Loyola I ran across this Jesus-focused prayer that Ignatius recommends often during the exercises.
Soul of Christ, make me holy
Body of Christ, redeem me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ’s side, cleanse me
Passion of Christ, make me strong
O Good Jesus, hear me
Hide me in your wounds
Never let me depart from you
Defend me from the evil enemy
Call me at the hour of my death
Bid me to come to you
That with your saints I may praise you
Forever and ever. Amen.
Thank you for posting this, Bob. Have you ever visited sacredspace.ie? It’s a daily devotional/prayer site that I think you’d appreciate. Miss you guys!
Margaret, I had never visited before, but did today and found it refreshing. I just prayed the prayer for today. Thanks for sharing!
