Rob Bell is going on tour again.
A couple of years ago I was among the sold-out crowd at Rocketown in Nashville as Rob presented Everything is Spiritual. That entire experience was amazing — from watching desperate people try to find tickets to actually hearing and seeing Rob’s presentation to experiencing being part of a crowd that scarcely breathed for 100 minutes.
There were early indications that the Everything Is Spiritual Tour would be available on DVD. However, it looks as though some technical problems or something has prevented the video release. I have a list of people I want to give that DVD to, should it ever come out. I have been regularly calling the production company to check on the status of the DVD. No definitive word was available the last time I called.
I read some reviews of Rob’s Sex God presentation. While I have read (and thoroughly enjoyed) the book (it was all good, but especially the last three chapters), I was unable to hear him present the material.
Now he’s on the road again, this time with The Gods Aren’t Angry Tour. Here’s the description you find if you follow the link that leads to the tour schedule and ticket sales: Part anthropology, part history, part deconstruction – this is new material that Rob hasn’t taught before, exploring how humans invented religion to make themselves feel better.
If you have been challenged or otherwise blessed by Rob’s material, you might want to check out the tour. By the way, net proceeds from the tour will be given to the Turame microfinance project.
